About Radio Isiaq

Established October 13, 2020, RadioIsiaq is a nonprofit radio platform created to amplify the voices of change in Nigeria through direct civic engagement against police brutality, impunity, corruption, and violence. Jimoh Isiaq, after whom the radio is named, was an innocent bystander in Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́, Nigeria, who was killed by the indiscriminate shooting of the men of the now dissolved Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) on Saturday, October 10, 2020. Over ten more people have died since then, and perhaps many others in police custody. Through this web radio, we hope to lend our voices to the #EndSARS movement and the general push for a better Nigeria through creative writing, monologues, news, citizen-journalism, satire, and other non-violent means of self-expression.
